Nuclear Medicine National Registry (NUCLEAR) is an ongoing systematic collection, analysis and interpretation of data pertaining to Nuclear Medicine services within Malaysia.
NUCLEAR is
a multi-center, observational cohort study.
designed to evaluate the effectiveness and impact on management outcomes of Nuclear Medicine services within Malaysia.
a nationwide project which aims to integrate all Nuclear Medicine patient registries and databases developed in Malaysia.
OBJECTIVES OF NUCLEAR:
General Objective
To establish a nationwide systematic prospective collection of data pertaining to Nuclear Medicine services, in order to study the effectiveness, safety and accessibility of Nuclear Medicine diagnostic and therapeutic modalities.
Specific objectives:
Determine the number of referrals and waiting time trend for Nuclear Medicine Services in Malaysia.
Determine the socio demographic profiles of these patients to better identify the present and future Nuclear Medicine centres.
Determine the number, evaluate and monitor the management outcomes.
Determine the efficiency and effectiveness of Nuclear Medicine services.
Determine the cost effectiveness of diagnostic and therapeutic in Nuclear Medicine procedures.
Stimulate and facilitate research using this database.
Specific key questions to be addressed by the registry:
Do Nuclear Medicine services play a significant role in clinical setting in our country?
Do we have sufficient manpower and resource for the provision of this service?
Are our current available centres offering an effective and efficient Nuclear Medicine services?
Have these Nuclear Medicine services brought any impact to our patient's management?
Is Nuclear Medicine service a cost-effective procedure for this nation?
