Our History

National Obstetric Registry (NOR) is a project initiated by the O&G fraternity. NOR was conceived years ago at the O&G congress in 2007 following that an initial meeting involving senior O&G consultants and CRC was held in Sept 2007 .The soft launch was in May 2009 and NOR went online on 1st July 2009.

National clinical research centre (CRC) was instrumental in the development, implementation and administration of this registry.

NOR is a clinical "disease" database which compiles the obstetric data to enable healthcare planning, implementation and evaluation in a defined population.

14 tertiary hospitals across Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia which represent one third of Obstetric practise contribute data to NOR. Each hospital has a dedicated Coordinator which comprises of an O&G specialist/ Consultant and a nursing coordinator over seeing data entry.

Objectives of NOR

To develop a complete picture of patient care through a comprehensive database to help tract patients management and outcome.

To enable in depth study of factors influencing patients outcome and its effective forms of treatment

To evaluate management of patients obstetric outcomes and develop guidelines to improve care

04.

To facilitate research on improving maternal and fetal morbidity and mortality

To benchmark performance
