Overview

National Stroke Registry

The National Stroke Registry was initiated in December 2008, supported by the Ministry of Health (MOH), and since then has contributed to numerous stroke publications in Malaysia. This registry is essential as it allows data on our stroke patients to be consolidated and analyzed for us better to understand the pattern and burden of stroke in Malaysia. This in return will aid in planning and developing strategies to overcome this scourge. The registry too can deepen our understanding of the practice of our healthcare providers to facilitate health policy planning. Since stroke is the 3rd leading cause of death in Malaysia, we must gain better insight regarding this disease using local data.
